Hey EA
What about 'blinky mode' 13.5 in 1/12th?

Epic heroes are like Aragron from the LOTR series or Odysseus from the Odyssey.

These are people with a lot of talent and ability, but no special powers (fly, laser beam eyes, super-strength).

I tried the Duo 3 17.5 non boost last night on my touring car. It's a lot faster than the Nemesis 17.5 with the same gear ratio. I don't think it runs cooler than the Nemesis though but it has a lot more power and torque. I am happy with the motor

I will try to post a picture of a dyno sheet tonight at 0 and full timing so you guys can see the difference. Its not as much as you think but does make a difference.

At Vegas with the duo 2 I was about 2 notches past 0 in the open class with a 6.3FDR. I think my setup is on the Tekin site for the speedo settings.

Would be interested in more info on V212 setups with this motor. The Tekin site does not have any V212 setups for OnRoad. The above questions were originally in reference to the 1/12th 17.5 Open & then Spec. Are you really running a 6.3 (161mm) for Open and 4.15 (105mm) Spec for your rollouts? Seems huge. I'm running Duo 1 and Duo 2 in those classes and it seems I would be way off if that is the area you're running in. I'm running the D3 in my Open 13.5 WGT. Strong runner - very pleased with bottom and top-end on this motor! Makes the Nemesis look like a boat anchor!

Has any one tried the FANTOM ION 3 yet comparing to D3?

I know that the Ion motors are based of the Duo but any reason to choose the Ion 3 over the D3? TIA

You can't go wrong either way. We prefer to run Fantom because of their excellent racer support worldwide.

we have 13.5's in stock and 17.5's will be here Monday.

The FDR sounds right as it's what most of us run, and the ESC setups are about the same as Duo2's setups (for instance Hara's setup which is on the Tekin web site).

Default Non-boosted 17.5

I'm going to start racing in a non-boosted class, should I find my gearing first or set motor timing?

EA posted something earlier about non-boosted classes.

I would think he is talking about tc not 1/12. Would be nice to hear what he thinks about 1/12 spec. Thanks!!

Yes what I posted was for TC. I have not ran a spec profile 12th scale class yet so I dont know where to gear them for pan cars. It will be after Christmas before I run pan cars again.

Unsure of 12th scale setups as of yet. For 13.5 I would start with my setup thats on the tekin site as it was pretty fast. Just needed a little better car. But I did have 2nd hot lap of the weekend!

If you had a RS prior to 212 then you should be able to use your existing set up. 212 isn't a completely different version from 208. It just improved on a couple of things. Any 208 onroad set up will still work now.
