Anyone know where and if I can buy a sensor board for the Epic DUO2 ?
I have tried emailing Epic, but as most people that have tried that already know, I got no response.
This new DUO3 sounds exciting and I am tempted to get one, but the non existing after sale service at Team Epic makes me wonder.

Yes you can, they are listed on the web site.

Hi wa7ash,

Sorry you have not received an email response. Have you checked your spam folder? You may want to call Team Epic directly. The phone number is (386) 668-7771. The part number for the Duo2 replacement sensor is TEP1020. Hope this helps!

after taking my d3 apart and putting on my duo2 endbell I can say that they are the same. even the sensor plate has the same markings and if the sensor is as I suspect it, it has the same position as the 2. now the holes in the can and the new sintered rotor instead of the plastic coated one in the 2 is probably making it a lot cooler running motor. but the problem with that is with stock spec you get too high a FDR and it still bogs. but in open ESC I bet it will be sweet and even in stock spec it seems to be running considerably cooler then my duo2. this would allow it not to fade as much as the duo2. one thing I want to check is the impedance compared to a duo 1 or 2 that would clinch it for the stator being the same also.

I think I'm going to take the rotor out of it and run it in my duo2 and see. and then swap it for my duo 1. turbo dyno here I come.

My Corally X-BP got under 500watts so i don`t need a red series 4.5T if i need to replace it.

Same if you want a different brand the Novak 4.5T got less than half (530watts)
Not even Trinity in their finest hour would make up a claim this far out of the box. A 100% efficient motor would need to draw 182.4 Amps to make 1350W @ 7.4V. And do you seriously believe that you can channel almost 2 horsepower through an 1/8" shaft? I've dyno tested Novak's motors and found their numbers to be pretty accurate, and haven't seen ANY other brands produce significantly different numbers (better or worse). The Duo3 17.5 was almost identical to a Novak, slightly less RPM, slightly more torque.

[QUOTE=haywood;8179635]Great motor! Ran it in stock 1/12th scale today had lot of low end and pulled hard down the straight. Came off the track after 8 min. at 135 degrees.[/QUOTE

If you like the motor in a 1s 1/12th now... Wait until the 1s rotors come out, you will be blown away!

I tried a 72 spur and it seemed a little short on the punch. I'm going to try a 76 spur next in our "no timing speedo" 17.5 class.
I did run my fastest laps today with the new Duo 3. Just got to figure out the sweet spot on this motor.

There will be a 1s rotor coming out at some point that will increase the performance in a 1s setup...

FINALLY, a motor manufacturer that will at least go down that road and see if there's going to be any difference! Put me down as "cautiously optimistic".

Trinity's shipment of 17.5 D3's was delayed, but should still be here by the end of this week.

Will they be ROAR approved?
