Its a killer motor for the price especially for a spec type class that tracks may have that only want to use one motor.

Wow that is a killer deal, would it perform exactly the same as a d3? Will this be roar approved?

No idea what the track is like, do you?
No mate, but as a start im going to run a West London based setup that Malc Hall uses. Got me gear diff but waiting on the blades so may not be able to give that a run, will see if it gets posted to me in time.

Im the same, can't do Saturday practice as I have my kids to think about and my GF, it's the only time I see them at weekends, so race days are few and far between. Just don't practice enough to really get on top of the racing anymore.

If this was answered previously my apologies. Has anyone compared the express motorsports D3 to a stock one. Is it worth the extra money?

I Currently run some boost with my 4.5 motor in TC. I am running the Lrp Sxx stock spec and boost 1 feel 1 . I am not sure how much this advances the timing on the motor , but i like it much better then no boost at all.

I do not think you would want to run higher turns and more boost as this will get much hotter in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

As the timing is fixed (obviously) I think a normal D3 could be made to be considerably faster.

you need to include which motor for people to help. 13.5? 17.5? 21.5? 25.5?

comeseethis.com can give you a pretty good starting point for gear ratios in non timing classes

as for timing on the endbell. A lot of guys crank it all the way up, but I just found that made the motor hot and didn't really seem any faster. I like around 2 or 3 notches over the "0" mark

Hey Mike
I run a 4.5 @ profile 1 on the old SPX. This motor is slower than my lrp x12 5.5! Do you have any tips? I haven't changed the mechanical timing and my fdr is around 9.3 on a medium sized track.

Im running a Duo 3 17.5 in my SC10 with esc timing and geared 22/87. I have run with no timing and geared 29/75. Dont forget to keep an eye on motor temps. My current esc setup is posted in the Speed Passion off road thread.

Well i am not sure how much timing boost the spx has, But the stock spec makes the motor much faster on the top end then the regular sxx. I am also geared quite a bit higher then you. I am currently running 8.0 with 4.5 my motor temps are about 160-180 degree's , This is for indoor carpet, For outdoors i might have to run a fan on the motor.

Also my Timing is one notch past 0.

Hope this helps some.

Mike

Check your PM's

I also just built a pan car for a friend using CRC tires / 69tooth spur and a 30 tooth pinion.

I don't know much about the LRP stock spec so I was conservative on the roll out, think it was around 66mm.

With my BD 72mm is the go.

Hey guys need some help. What fdr should I be looking for? I will be running 17.5 blinky. The motor is in a T3 with a tekin RS. Also our straight stretch is about 75 ft and the track is pretty flowwing. Any help would be great. Thanks.
