I will try to post a picture of a dyno sheet tonight at 0 and full timing so you guys can see the difference. Its not as much as you think but does make a difference.

At Vegas with the duo 2 I was about 2 notches past 0 in the open class with a 6.3FDR. I think my setup is on the Tekin site for the speedo settings.

Any luck with that dyno sheet picture?
Thanks

Also wondering what you use to get your rotor readings? Do you use a Trinity/EPIC unit or something else?
Thanks again.

I think it depends on which generation Cirtix you have. I've heard that the early Cirtix ESC's don't play well with some motors.

I have the Cirtix with the USVTA sticker on the box. I was able to get the D3 to work.

How do the D3 13.5s perform compared to other motors such as the SP V3 13.5? Anyone done any testing? Also What is the max timing you can run on these motors on the can?

Thanks in advance!

Default Black knight

The "Black Knight" is the Express Motorsports tuned version of the stock DUO 3 motors

Have you guys had much track time to test a FDR around 3-3.5 with no timing vs 4.15-4.25 with max. Someone earlier posted that it made more wattage everywhere with full timing, so I'd assume its faster at 4.xx, but I haven't had a chance to test first hand though.

Test results are in.....

Pres and I ran the Fantom 17.5 Ion3 in 1/12 yesterday with great results. I previously was running an Ion1 whereas Pres was running a SP v3.0. From my Ion1 set up I went up 2 teeth, lowered the boost and lowered the turbo on the ESC. My result was quicker & more consistent runs.

Our roll outs both were in the 85.5 range.

Ran my new 17.5T D3 friday night. I'm running off-road so it's not a direct apples to apples comparison..

Previously running a ballistic with some boost and turbo. Ran the D3 with the speedo in spec mode. Went up 1 tooth and tried running the motor at full mechanical timing advance. It was really soft down low. Ended up going back to the same pinion I had been running with the ballistic and 2 knotches of timing and it seemed better. 8.11 FDR for what it's worth. Lap times and overall time was the same with the D3 as the ballistic with the boost but felt a little softer overall. I was getting pulled out of a couple of the corners just a little bit, but I wasn't getting passed.

Still learning what the motor wants but I matched my track record, best lap times, top qualified and won so I'd say it was a good first outing.
