You can expect the car to actually work on Asphalt..

Seriously though, it will react in a very neutral manner. The Tamiya springs just have too much rebound for asphalt racing, imo.

You should find the car a little more reactive initially. The Tamiya springs are a little more progressive, so initially feel less reactive to inputs before stiffening up (in part why them seem good on the rug, take away initial bite) . The Hpi's are more linear, so react faster to inputs.

Great thread. Can someone be kind enough to post a link where I can buy the HB and HPI springs?

What colors work best for asphalt racing? I've heard to many opinions from people that dont own the car and would like the opinions of people that actualy own a TRF 417.

Cheers!

Not sure on where best to get them, but I can state that the colours to go for would be;

2sets of Blue
2sets of Silver
1set Pink
1set gold

I've never used anything other than these outdoors... tend to sit on silver/silver or pink/silver.

Thanks for the reply Ed! I assume you're referring to the HB springs?

So far i'm using tamiya blue front and yellow rear. Running mod on med traction. There is a bit of intial push but I've been able to manage. I will try silver all around.
