Car was really like driving on ice. I lowered camber links by 1mm, felt some more side bite but car was rotating like mad. Went up to #1000 in the rear diff and the car started rotating nicely but was still a bit slidey. Put the thinner top deck on and the car became much more to my liking, really digging in and not sliding in the corners at all unless I carried too much speed on entry. Car was a little slow on exit so went to 2.5 rear toe and it was all good. Last final had a bit of fun and put a front one way in. Quite good with the one way so long as everything was going to plan, as soon as I made a mistake and had to correct something the one way was not so fun!

Important thing is I'm leaving the rostrum with a smile again =D Big race this Sunday so let's hope I can keep the car handling sweetly.

If you look from the top of the wishbone so you can see where the holes are on both sides then hole 1 is the furthest out (closest to the wheel) and 4 is the most inward (closest to centre). The holes alternate from side to side, so the side with the furthest out hole has hole 1 and 3 and the other side is 2 and 4. If you look on a set up sheet then the diagram is arranged so that hole 1 looks further out than hole 2. HiH.

Thank you

Default problem with spur gear

having to use a 87 T spur gear mod 48 / 17 T pinion mod48 with 3.5T motor to have 9.92 final gear ratio to have a low temperature of 70°C in small track the spur gear touch in the Center Bulkhead Tamiya 13454762 TRF417 when the chassis flexes and smash it

I thought of cutting the Center Bulkhead Tamiya 13454762 TRF417 1piece so the spur gear can't touch and use the 417 chassis with 417X top deck and separated suspension block, if i use the 417 top deck and 1 piece suspension block at fr and rf i can limit the flex

I can solve the problem so?
anyone has tried to mount 3.5T motor on the first 417 with center bulkhead 1piece?

I'm racing 17.5 blinky at the weekend. Anyone have a good starting FDR for a 417? will a 80t spur fit in the car? Or will I need a bigger spur?

What pitch are you using? If 64 pitch its too small. I run a 96 spur with 4.8 pinion most of the time. FDR is about 3.8 with that ratio. I run a fixed timing motor in blinky that is quite torquie. FDRs around 4 is what you are aiming for as a starting point.

I am using 64 pitch. I just wonder if an 80t spur and 40t pinion would fit. Or should I go for a 90 and 45t etc

i would go for 90 or even a bigger spur.
I run 96 on mine and it works just fine, I thínk 80 is just too small.

80 tooth spur gear is to small it will not mesh... 88 tooth is the smallest one spur gear you can you to have a proper gear mesh...
