What other parts besides the kit do you guys recommend to order aswell? Any must have hopups/parts? Thnx in advance!

Standard spares list that I always try to carry, could get away with less for sure, but I'm pedantic ;

2sets of wishbones
1set of 4 C-hubs
1set of rear hubs
1set of steering knuckles
1set of kingpins
1set of hinge pins
1spare 1XA block
1spare 1E block
1spare front belt
1spare rear belt

In terms of upgrades for the car to make more durable I would go with the following;

Split front 1C blocks (the front 1C's can bend in a crash)
44mm steel driveshafts for the front
Tune-up RC steel spool outdrives (44mm driveshafts can be used)
8mm Steel ball joints (for the rear hubs)

Upgrades for performance;
Front gear diff (just to give options, spool will be fastest in most situations)
HPI Springs (2sets silver, 1set blue, 1 set pink should cover it)
ummm.... not much else!

Deff on the swing shaft protector, forgot about them.
Ti turnbuckles for the steering as well, other links less required, but nice to have it all Ti

I was just having a strip down of my 417, when I rebuilt it I noticed it was quite heavy compared to my 416 / 415msx

with electrics I get 1298g (no shell) my 415 and 417 are around 70-90g lighter..

How much more is a spec-c diff compared to a ball diff? I suppose I should dump the lipo holders etc as well (although I use them as a weight to balance the chassis, so I would have to add aoround 30-40g if I remove them..

anyway, is this weight about right?

So, just wanted to give a quick report back from last weekend and the testing I did with the carbon brace on the split front suspension mounts.
It's not conclusive, and I didn't manage to get a back to back done, but I would say I felt a bit of an improvement in terms of responsiveness from the front. However, I do need to test it again as a) I went to a different track, b) it was very hot with track temp of 60*C, and c) I only managed two runs before finding a (literal) hole in the wall... cue my 4th chassis plate, top deck, left front bulkhead, motor mount, 1D block, Bumper, and hinge pin....

Biggest crash? yup for sure. I'm pretty sure that as my as the car went from 50mph to 0 in about 5cm, my face was a picture... Oh well, crap happens!
