T.O.P Racing's Rebel 1/12th scale

Rumor in the pits is that Top racing has a 1/12th scale to be debuted at IIC. I have seen posted that it maybe called the "Rebel" and designed by Josh Cyrul. Hopefully pictures can be taken and put in this thread for curious eyes. Let's get a thread started for pictures and discussion..

Discuss.

Josh Cyrul and TOP for a new release...? Must been in the works for a while.

I was thinking the same thing. Funny, because Top Japan has had a "Rebel" logo on there site for a long time. And that same logo has been on a Redrc advertising banner for awhile.

JamesReilly 09-07-2010 06:51 PM

The pan cars had been designed for sometime. Josh will be the only one that knows if they are as he designed them.

pakk 09-07-2010 07:22 PM

who's driving it?

Owen RaCing 09-07-2010 09:43 PM

Well, I noticed Michael O'donnel (OD Purple) was signed up for 12th at IIC. So I'm guessing that he would be running it.

Heres a few pics a mate showed me a few weeks ago. . . .Early concept i assume?

Hi Mike, No one is running the car. We have a pre-production version for show and tell. Scheduled release is for around November. We'll start an official thread about the car when the time is right

Dammit Mike! Looks like someone beat you to it!:lol:

With any luck, Larry Fairtrace and myself will be debuting the Rebel at the Indoor champs. Not sure what class(es) yet as we have no idea how close to production the car will be. The date we've been given is optimistic as far as getting the cars so hopefully TOP & Vincent pull through.

Yes, that's right OD, we'll have our cars before you!

b-man777 09-30-2010 11:09 AM

Hay all: the new top racing 12th pan car looks nice is there a 10th pan on the way as well? Also with josh cyrul no longer with top racing are these cars still worth a try? Thanks :spidey:

How strong are the Pod plates(left and motor side)? It seems to me that they would be susceptable to bending them on a hard front impact. As in it looks like they would want to fold up.

Dragarcher 11-01-2010 01:10 PM

As far as motor plates holding up no one has put this on the track yet so it remains to be seen. I don't think there will be a problem because Josh did a bunch of CAD work just like actual "real car" designers. TOP has shown their commitment to being winners with Josh's other design the "PHOTON" by upgrading parts and working with their team drivers to make changes where needed. Here in the USA Mike O'Donnell, and E.J. Evans (TOP USA partners) are absolutly hounded about when this car will be available and that's just by their employee ME! One quick question when you received your Rebel did it come with instructions? I'm thinking they may be waiting on the printers?

Yeah, I'm wondering if the motor moved in a crash.

use shims to change ride height

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4057/...56ce08c9_b.jpg

DJG24 11-02-2010 04:09 PM

Those look like they may break. I hope they have aluminum option parts for that.

Buckaroo 11-02-2010 04:26 PM

Interesting design on using the two screws to hold the motor in. I wonder just how rugged that's going to be.b The shim idea for adjusting ride height looks pretty cool, and may be easier to get set than those dang offset inserts that are always too loose or too tight.
