1/12th 1S Pan cars.
 

I've been hearing a lot of 1/12 talk recently. Then this followed by the Australian National entry form being posted and to read 1/12 run 8 minutes. Also having them compared to 2wd Off-road in skill level I start thinking of getting into the class. 8min, 2wd and difficult to drive, this really appeals to me.
I see Corally, Xray and AE make kits, but what info should I have before jumping in and buying one?
What cars should I look into? and what motor turn as it is a open class.

The guys on the Australian one are all very helpful. Most of them are from Sydney.
You will need to find a club that has a healthy 1/12th scale class. Not sure if much is happening with them in Melbourne.

12th scale would be the most fun class to race, is like driving a .21 1/8th scale onroad gas car but much smaller and no noise.

Just ask any question at those 2 thread, people are more then happy to answer it.

also there is Serpent s120L, CRC kit which is also good just choose the car within your budget and easy to find parts, all of them can be a winning car in a capable Hand

12th is a lot of fun. It is very challenging on setup. The attention to detail is very important to finding speed. The CRC XL is a very good car.

Thanks, I'll check out those links. Finding it hard to choice, my LHS deals AE but does not stock RC12. The main online shop I deal with stocks most brands but only CRC, HB, AE and Xray kits. Really like the Serpent S120L but... More research I guess.

Local hobby shops in australia don't generally bother with 12th scales, 99% of 12th scale is all online normally.

Another car to look at but in the dearer end of the scale is the newest kid on the block the Yokomo R12

Do you're research first and you will find 2 car's you mentioned not worth buying at this moment ;-)

Yep 12th is most fun class, have a 5.1 parts are easy to find, u can buy kits for less the 200usd. Make sure you can find somewhere to run it first, not alot of tracks run them down in Melbourne.

I've also started looking at the Yokomo. I think it's down the the Yokomo or AE (Serpent and BMI are still there to). What are the pro's and con's of either these two or others?
