CRC Carpet Knife XL Guidance
Hi i'm looking to get one of these for the indoor season.
What shell do people recommend, do all 1/12 shells fit ?
Also what spares would people recommend ? is there any bits that need to be replaced often ?
Also what tyre compound for carpet ? noticed theres afew colours, which colour do people find the best ?
Any other advice, ive never ran a 1/12 before
thanks

Gen XL spares - upper and lower pod plate, kinpins, front axles, front bearings.
If you're using CRC tyres start with purple fronts and pink rears, more safe again. I usually use magenta fronts and pink rears, moving to magenta rears when the grip comes up.
Any other advice - read through the 12th scale section of a well known British forum, that is where most of the UK national runners post. There's a massive amount of info on there.

Shells most commonly used in the UK are the Protoform AMR-12 and Black Art Bomb'r. I'd recommend the AMR-12 to start with as it makes the car feel more safe.

Unlike that "other forum", RC Tech is not in the habit of banning people who try to be helpful...
