My experience is the opposite. Won't track straight, give it more toe-out.
. -LOL, that is what I love/hate about the Tamiya M Chassis cars ...there are many ways to get your car to run well. ..we all find slightly different paths. Thanks, i'll be sure to keep Toe at stock for the initial build then.

Raman,

how did those premounted tires work for you? Have you had a chance to use them? (You got the slicks, right)?

Also,
I have a question for everyone.
I am going to start my build tomorrow AM, ...the first part of the build is the gear box.

I have two questions:

1) Should I run the stock gearing OR the TA03 Ball Diff (I have both)

2) To begin, how loose or tight should I run the gearing? Because this is RWD and the front wheels spin freely I don't really have any point of reference ...maybe an F1 is the closest thing. Per the F1 I run, I like my diff' a bit on the looser side (I find it prevents the rear from spinning out easily).

Thanks!
I am excited to get going on this one.

No I heard that there maybe a new spec tyre for TCS.. So I'm not going to buy them until the TCS race gets closer.

Regarding the diff, which is lighter on weight, the TA03 or stock.. They could be close since the TA03 has the pot metal casing.

My diff: If I turn the right wheel, the left turns in the same direction and vice versa. So I run mine tight!

I have always ran mine this way, so I could be missing something by not trying it looser.. But judging by the cars ability to go full throttle in sweepers.. I think I'm doing something right.

No.. this is what fred wrote: we are still looking at a NEW tire for the Series for certain classes. However, this has taken longer than expected, so we will continue to use the same tires for the regional races. Implementation of a new spec tire may not happen until the 2017 Finals

When I first read this, I assumed it maybe for the GT classes.. but a guy at my track said.. its m chassis too.

Default spinning out

i am just wondering what are the causes for the car to spin out either to the left or right when you punch it ??? thanks.

It's a rear wheel drive car. That'll generally happen when you've got too much power or not enough rear grip. You'll either need to change your throttle control behaviour or change the setup.

you are right about the power....i have a very torqey motor so lots of power....i have adjusted the expo on my radio for softer start and trying to be smoother on the throttle.....i also sauce the rears lots to have good traction......no sauce in the front for now until i can fix the spinning out issue......straight line speed is awesome!! i noticed when i am turning right it seems fine but its when i try punching to the left it spins out...so next question is what setup stuff can i try ??? i have 1deg tow out in the front and 2 deg rear toe in...

thanks....

That would really suck, ...go into the finals using a tire you may not have been using all year long. ...w/ the M class tires are 1/2 the battle. (well maybe 20% of the battle, ...shocks, good driving and plenty of other factors).

What motor are you using? I mean yeah if you have a 13t in there and are punching it the car will probably spin out. I haven't driven my M06, but can say that w/ F1's which are rear wheel drive if you punch it even w/ a stock 21t it will spin out.

Unless you move to a lower powered motor I would finesse the car a bit more ...don't just "point and shoot".
