What parts are those again? Do you mean the piece that holds the front and rear suspension holders

So the plastic lower suspension mount, is alloy. The rear damper stay mount and arm is alloy, and the alloy motor mount parts. That's pretty much it other than the alloy steering, 3racing dampers, bearings, ball diff and rear unis.

Seriously considering an M06, mostly out of spite for the M05.

Also because I am one of those people that prefers the RC have the same drivetrain layout (or at least engine position) as the 1:1.

So i'm thinking M06 in SWB config and the HPI Cup Racer Porsche 911 (210mm WB) shell. Has someone already done this?

I have the HPI RSR body and it fits the M06 perfectly. I presently race it with the Alfa GTA body and do pretty well.

Like you, I don't like the M05 front drive. It takes a bit more to drive the M06 right. I would recommend trying to pick up the M06R if you can find one somewhere in stock. The rear axle weights really help.

I'm guessing we will shortly see an M06 Pro Ver II from Tamiya since the M05 was just updated

Surprise me that the you perfer the M06 over the M05..
I ran my m06R and I couldn't even come close to my M03 laps time...
maybe I need a good set up for low grip traction..
I didnt use the rear axles weight..could my problem..
plus the M06R works better with hard rear and soft front tires..M03 work great with the same f/r tires and the M06 dont

I just don't like FWD cars, not 1:1 or 1/10 , 1/12. Would be an insult to my 1:1 Alfa GTV if I raced an M05 with the body on it.. My 1:1 would probably refuse to start lol.

Joking aside, It's not easy, I will say that.

Also I should add that I do well against like for like drivers. If it's a top notch M03/ M05 driver it's hard.

I actually run mine with Sweep 40 in front and sweep 33 in rear, with pink inserts, 60wt all around. Rear ride height at 5 mm, front 4. springs rear blue front yellow. Rear stabiliser soft and none in front

Yep. I used to have a Lancia Scorpion 1:1, I refuse to run my Stratos shell on anything but a MR layout car (RWD... AWD if i must).

That said I think in terms of braking, AWD is accurate just coz 1:1 cars do 2/3 or more of the braking with the front wheels, regardless of driveline.

I have no trouble competing with the M06R on our high grip carpet. In fact, the M06s have looked like the car to beat at our track for a long time. At the TCS race I think that 4 of the top 5 cars in the "A" were M06s.
That doesn't mean that a a good driver can't come in here with an M03 and beat us, but I still wouldn't take an M03 if they were handing them out for free. :)

Would be a cool hop up to have mechanical front brakes on the M06 ;) I run mine with brake setting at minimum, however I have set drag brake at 7 on my ESC, which helps on corner entry.

I was recently in the market for a daily driver. I went to drive the Mini Countryman but insisted on the ALL4. During the drive the sales guy asked me, why I wanted to try the ALL4? I told him because if 'in hate FWD cars. I don't think he liked my language. I ended up leasing a BMW 128i. Fun car

Hi, has anyone made 'A10' parts of steering rack to fit the fixed front upper arms like M05?

I don't like turnbuckle affairs on those m06.. seem easily to pop off and impossible to put it back on trackside.

what about rear?

I've never had a turnbuckle pop off. You should replace them with the low friction ones by Tamiya. They are grey in colour

M06 does work great with same Fr/Re tires, if the setup is prepared for it.
I run Tamiya S-Grips fr/re and had very good results in some races. Tire wear is really low and equal, compared to an M03 or M05. And you can change front to rear sometimes.
But I have to admit, I´m also using the R-spec parts (axle weights, 1,3mm pistons in the rear) and some serious toe out in front.

I had a look at my m06 rear suspension, it is possible to really shorten the rear turnbuckle, and replace the screws on rear most of rear shock tower mount with long ball stud. this look good.

has anyone done this mod ?

it doesn't have positive camber changes at upper travel of suspension travel like stock one.

Hi all,

I'm considering to buy an M06 Pro kit and race it in the Tamiya Cup. I am only allowed original Tamiya bits, except for extras like fans. Motor is hand-out Carson Cup machine. I read in this topic it's pretty good right out of the box. I will add the usual 50746 shocks and proper springs. What else should be on the list? I consider:
- Some sort of motor cooling, like 54268 aluminium motor mount and mount some fan to it (fan needn't be original Tamiya).
- 54267 Aluminum Rear Upright (2.0)

Please advise!
