Soooo... Does this look like a raceable body? Or is it just for bling?

rod_b 06-16-2004 09:06 PM

I would try it. It almost seems like it would push just because of the agressive lines on the car. Too much downforce maybe?!

JayBee 06-16-2004 09:11 PM

190mm or 200mm??

That's SWEET!!!

JimmyMac 06-16-2004 09:36 PM

Front end reminds me alot of the Yokomo/Chevron GT350. The wing looks similar to the MG. Should provide tons of steering with a loose rear end... Just a guess.

King-G 06-16-2004 09:44 PM

loose rear end with that plank hangin off the back>?..perhaps with a legal rake wing...hehe

JimmyMac 06-16-2004 10:04 PM

It seems more laid back like an MG wing as opposed to an Alfa that's more straight up and down. Of course, like you said... I run all my wings Roar Legal. But who knows... it may handle awesomely.. :D

jeffreylin 06-16-2004 10:08 PM

I am just glad there is one more different body to choose from. I am tired of seeing a field of cars with the same bodies.

Well spoken

ICEMAN 06-17-2004 06:27 AM

HANDS DOWN, the most different looking body in years, even if it doesn't handle the best , the looks will make up for it

antoniop 06-17-2004 06:44 AM

It's so beautiful....

Ferrari and Porsche need to hire that designer!!!! A show stopper!!!

(were they drunk or what???)

Ooohh boy, how I love european cars....

Even if the body handles well, that thing is awful!!!

seaball 06-17-2004 06:46 AM

very cool.

hey cole, this one's got some soul, eh?:D

Yes that also was my impression it looks alot like the Chevron GT350. But for me the GT350 looks much better.

Maybe Protoform is changing the bodyshell design now and the next one looks like a Ride. :D

fatdoggy 07-17-2004 01:40 AM

So how do these things handle? My local track just got the CTS and the Nemesis in and it's a toss-up between the two. I'm leaning towards the CTS... :sneaky:

Chill Will 07-17-2004 05:25 AM

I saw one at the track last week. It was sweet. I got to have one. I will just change my set up.

racenut123 07-17-2004 07:04 AM

Last race I attended the winner of the 19 turn Class and Tq of Mod ran this body all day.He said it was stuck. His car looked awsome.Worth trying once. BTW,you canyt go wrong with the nemesis either.

JayBee 07-17-2004 07:10 AM

I'm getting both of them ;) :D

azenis 07-17-2004 08:13 AM

I am keen to give it a go if they handle ok... they dont look too bad for a yank tank and something different from the masses of stratus, alfa and mazda6...

fatdoggy 07-17-2004 09:44 AM

Thanks for the info guys. I'll get one today.

so far we have...

Mazda6
Alfa Romeo
Stratus
G350GT
CTS
Subaru Legacy (coming soon)

now.. if mr steve wang can only import those sweet looking Ride bodies.. the TSX looks awesome!

our races can have luxury cars now! CTS vs G35 vs TSX!

fatdoggy 07-17-2004 07:28 PM

Mmmmmm Candy blue and Sprint white, just have to work out a paint scheme. Can't wait to run it next weekend.

fatdoggy 07-17-2004 07:40 PM

If it looks good I will, if it's looks like crap I won't.

TimPotter 07-17-2004 09:27 PM

Just picked up my CTS tonight, will try it out on Wed night...

GundamWZero 07-18-2004 05:26 AM

Its cool and all.......but I wouldn't race it. It'll be for crusing up and down the street, catching future hobbyist...... I rather race this:

Boy, I have some serious concourse ideas for it..........

azenis 07-18-2004 05:29 AM

Where DO you get that body from?
I would love to get hold of a 4-door orginal (GC8) WRX shell - as opposed to the Tamiya WRC/22B style ones...

HPI.....They said its comming soon, but its taking too long.

I hope it comes out exactly like its pictured, I mean how the rear wing mount is totally redesigned. It'll have more downforce in the rear due to how high it sits.

azenis 07-18-2004 05:50 AM

OK cool :)
Would be great if it does go into production, and even better if it is competitive with the stratus/mazda6/alfa etc

Hondaguy 07-18-2004 05:22 PM

I ran a CTS today. I will not run any other body now. I found the CTS to have excellent downforce both in the front and in the rear. It is more neutral than a Mazda 6 or a Alfa 2.0 . It mounts very low. I had it touching the top of my front tower on my TC3. It looked low, sleek, and mean going down the backstraight at my track. BTW, Protoform is now offering a 200mm version of the CTS.

Chill Will 07-18-2004 06:32 PM

GundamWZero- Who makes that body? That looks sweet.

The body has so many screw-ups it's not funny. I will only be using liquid mask from now on. Here's a pic anyway.
