Default They call me a whore-Yes I am.....

Yes-this is a RCTech confession-I am a RC car 4wd Sedan Whore!!! Oh its not as bad as it seems. What does that mean? That means I am tempted to buy and often do every new sedan that looks like its gonna be the next best thing to happen to RC racing!!! IN search of a RC Nirvana it seems.

I wonder-is it a physical/psychological addiction?? And I am not the only one-mind you-I know a lot worse than me!! The only difference is they have more money-so they have more toys!! Hows that old saying go?? Oh yeah-He who dies with the most toys...Is still dead!!?? or something like that.

I also wonder-is it a bad thing? Well yes and no!!!

Heres the postives:

-SO COOOL to own and play with so many cool pieces of machinery
-Not the same old same old TC3!!!
-If you take racing seriousely-it makes you a LOT better at tuning chassis!!! Cause there aint no one to help you!!
-Makes you a better-more well rounded driver.

But with positives-there must be negatives and there is one BIggie!!!
Well two or three.....

-If you stayed with one car and never drove anythng esle--you might be fast!! maybe....
-OH-the pain of the resale value!!!
-the embarrasement of spending the most-but not being any faster at the end of the day.
-All that dbl. stick tape and redoing batteries.YUCK!!

So-whos a WHore like me? Who would admit it!!!I could name names-lots of em-right here on RCTech-but I wont!!!

I would also consider myself an RC Whore, not only do i own one of every class of racing, i am building up quite a supply of 12th scale cars, currently i am up to 6 (all current models) and i have not raced 12th scale in 6 months, in fact i have acquired 3 of them since the last time i hit the track in 12th.

Add in the endless supply of sedans, offroad buggies and trucks, nitro tourer, 1/8th off road etc etc. I earn a good income but due to RC there is nothing left at month end. oh well at least we have fun.

I will admit it... but only because it's my hobby damn it jim!! Collect the cars we'd love to race. Race the cars we love to collect... then sell them for money towards the next best greatest thing! Shortest time I had with a car.... 2 weeks. XXX-S G+. Got it. Built it. Won with it. Sold it that day. Longest... My Yokomo SD. Got it when it came out in Japan last year around March... still have it and race it now.

LMAO

My friend used to call me a "car-slut" because I was always dumping my old car (whether it was hooked up or not) for the latest and greatest. So here I am now with a perfectly sweet running Pro4 while I can only think and wonder about an X-Ray Factory Kit. LOL!

Too funny. I guess it's not just me.

Ray, this is SO going to come up again at next years Snowbirds !!!
I'm afraid I'll have to join this little club of yours though. Collecting Tamiya cars has become an addiction.

Thiis goes a lng way to realizing it really is the driver-not the car that wins the races-BUT-I know for a fact from my experience as a felow WHore-that some cars are better suited for some tracks and defonately some drivers!! I am the fastest or should say most competitive when I drive a TC3- a BMI Tc3 to be exact. I dont like it-bbt thats life. Now I am starting to think mayb the Xray FK may be the car for me.

BBut-of course I've almost got my self talked into a Tech MY04 -if it came w/ a front diff-wgich it doesnt.

SElf control...SEEELF CONTRoooolll needed. Arrrggghhhhh.................

I too have owned more than one car in my racing career. Just remember, you're spending your daughter's college fund so you better win!!

I've found the cure...and no Mr. John Ashcroft it's not abstinence

Ray, I think you've found the cure too...it's a great product from XRay called the T1 series.

I actually had a 3some one day at the track with a BMI TC3 and an XRay EVO2. That day the XRay showed me the err of my ways and I have been cured since.

My tagline says it all...
