Reedy Quasar Pro Charger Recall
I saw this on my local news website and though I would post it....
WASHINGTON -- Associated Electrics Inc. is recalling nearly 5,000 battery chargers used to power remote-control race cars because the company says the chargers can overheat and explode.
The California company says the Reedy Quasar Pro Battery Charger has a defective fuse and program error that can cause the battery pack to explode, posing a risk of serious injury to consumers.
There have been three reports of battery cells exploding.
One person sustained a bruised hand, while another received an eye injury from flying debris.
The recalled battery chargers were sold at hobby dealers nationwide from February 2002 through February 2004 for about $200.
Consumers should stop suing the charger and contact Associated Electrics for free repair.
Call (800) 518-7339 or visit the company's Web site Associated Electrics for more information.

No...NO.....NOOOOOOO!
Remember, Reedy is just telling people that the recall is about 'enhancements'!
I will say this though, they are doing it right. From what I've seen, they've simply replaced the bad chargers with new ones so that the turn around time is as short as possible.
