Help need with gearing for a 18turn

Hi guys,

I have had this Atlas 18 turn for a while and id like to use it. Id just like to know what gearing to use with out cooking the motor or brushes..

The car is a TA04 internal drive ratio is 2.13

Im running a 37/82 atm, will this be too high for the motor?

Geez what is that, johnson 540 gearing? Don't run it with that gearing or you'll cook it. You running rubber or foam(if so how tall) ? Large track, small track?

Umm its not actualy for a track im just going to have run at the local park :)

Im running rubber tyres 64mm diameter.

Start with a gearing around 8.5 and go from there. You will probably have to add or loose pinion teeth depending on how the motor is running. Always check the motor two or three times through the first battery just to make sure it's ok.

for indoor you can run a final ratio of 7.0 (an EP cars track)
for outdoor you can run 5.5~6.0 (asphalt track with 40meter straight)
