Sad you got folks walking around calling themselves national champions because they paid a bloated entry fee to win over a field that would be akin to your average saturday nite, or less.

No, you got folks walking around saying I traveled to a Roar National and won. to bad all the fast guys around the country got thier manties in a bunch and didn't attend, then they could have shown the rest of us what fast is.

Thanks Ritchie, I just added a new word to my vocabulary. And it sounds like Paul L showed everybody what fast is. Again.

Also, I don't think that super stock should have a national title. Most of the people in the 17.5x main were A-main people in mod. The people who race every week in 17.5 did not have a chance. So why even bother giving a national title for stock if the drivers that deserve a chance at it don't get one? I think it is screwed up that Nascar Nationwide series has drivers from Sprint cup coming in and trying to win.

If we want to improve Touring Car, we have to look to a place that it Thrives. Karl brought up the point of Europe. It was brought up at the track the other day, Europeans have it easy to drive to any national event. But then again, they only have one class at national Touring Car/12th events.

And this years Paved Nats was boycotted? I know the Carpet Nats were(Kind of), but Paved? I think I a lot of local people that attended Reedy Race did not attend the Nationals.

Yes Ralph did win the WC in Texas last weekend. No it was not a ROAR race but an IFMAR race. Roar does not have a WC race but you must qualify through ROAR for the IFMAR worlds every 2 years.

Im sure you already know that though but I couldnt tell if you were being sarcastic or not...

this thread is a perfect example of whats wrong with US, one guy suggests limting the classes, the next guy says, yea great idea, but dont' limit my class, another one, if you limit my class I will not renew, everyone wants thier class to be the one run at regionals and Nationals. I know you love mod, we have discussed it before, but that doesn't mean those that enjoy stock can't get a title. the problem is/ or might be, once you split the 17.5 into X and S, X is open to everyone even world champions, its right in the name, expert. for many years I avoided major events, why travel spend all that money to race the local guys that drop from mod to stock just to get my ass kicked, I can stay home and get it kicked for 10 bucks on any sunday, (best movie ever btw), however now, major events for me is about making friends, hanging out, pulling what little hair I left out, and just a good time win lose or lose, at the reedy I was in the A, at the nats bottom of C and had just as much fun. and that should really be the bottom line of ANY major event, go to have fun, winning, or placing in the A is the bonus.

I love mod so I don't have to mess with my computer more than my setups. I honestly miss the 13.5 SPX days, when timing was lite and it was fun. I felt like the racing was close and it was a good speed/punch combination. No crazy computer time, just profile 8 and the same gearing as last weekend. I know stock deserves to have its glory. I just wonder if stock should be one class, with a limited group. At that point, mod and stock entries would go up due to the elimination of super stock.

I think this thread is going away from the intentions, will we have a nationals next year?

I wont attend any major race I cant race 2 touring classes. That is how I feel. I like touring and there should always be some middle ground where the fastest can race the slower guys. That is the only way people will improve.

In the biggest days of touring in the mid 2000's there was always a middle ground class(19 turn) and it didn't hurt attendance at races.
