Have any of you guys ever had a problem with an armature shorting out? This happened to me using a cheap machine wound 12t double. Luckily it didn't hurt anything that I know of. I'll never buy a cheap motor again! Thanks for any replies!

i did that to a monster stock recently one side of the comm was purple and pink the rest looked normal after i hit a corner dot the car dropped of alot of speed after that hit but after a true it came back to normal

syntex1 - When you trued it did one segment cut before the other two? Sounds like one of the plates lifted...

Have had a 540 come shorted from new.

After drawing lots of current & sparking at the comm (& RF glitching), could see the windings are much darker on one arm pole.

And it got hot enough to unsolder its wires.

Throw away the arm and get another.
