Battery questions...
Well i didnt want to make a post for this but with search being down for like a week already i guess i will. What cheap batteries do you guys run and have success with? I have both a smc and thunder power that have puffed up after not to many cycles. Im starting to think 100.00 dollar batteries arent really worth it. Anyone having any success with the hobbyking stuff? Anything else i should look into? Thanks guys

if you don't need a roar approved pack. I figured why take the same risk with a higher priced pack while you can buy one cheaper, or take 4 risks for the same price.

I guess i will give them a call. From my experience though and what i see it seems like no matter expensive or cheap they all puff. 80% of the smc i see are a lil puffed like mine. Only reason i was looking for a cheap alternative Owen is regardless if they puff or not they are still 100 bucks. I would like some cheaper club race, practice batteries even if they are not roar approved. For 25 bucks if they turn out to be half as good as most people say the turnigy will work for me.

SMC's puff all the time but that's pretty rare for a TP. Give them a call and see if they can help you out.

Yeah, I haven't seen too many TP batteries puff up. I've beat the hell out of mine, and they're still as flat as a brick. I store them between 3.8 and 3.7 volts.

I have SMC, GP, IP, and PowerFlo packs. Never had any issues. Had the SMC for over a year. I use them, always balance charge, store them at 70%, and keep them in a cool dark place when not using.
Maybe i'm just lucky.
