Default Lipo dilema

Hi to all,

i have a question about lipo 7.4v pack configuration.
What is better 2s2p 50c or 2s1p 45c same mah, same brand, for stock racing?
2s2p containing 4 cells are harder to balance and more volatile then 2s1p that's made from 2 cells, right?

What do u think about this?

Thanks

I am not 100% on how the different configurations perform against each other, but, no difference when it comes to balancing. Cells wired in parallel must always be at the same voltage, so no difference really.

Differences in cell degradation can mean that a 2p pack could have one cell drop without the other being affected. The voltage would read the same but the capacity would be down and the pack would fall out of balance.

For that reason I would always go for a 1p pack if possible because then you can monitor each cell individually.

agreed. Along with the whole balancing issues, there is also the issue of resistance. There are less soldered connections holding together a 1p pack vs a 2p pack.

Thunder Power seem to be generally regard as the best lipo....and they are 2s2p.

Also, having the 'resistance' of the cells in parallel reduces their total resistance.

Basically, I wouldn't worry about any of it, unless you're buying cheap crap packs.
