not exactly-- my KEYENCE ZERO V EXTREME is one of the best if not the best esc out there and it has 4 wires coming off of it.

The 4 wire ESC's just tie the 2 positive wires together inside the case.

Wait a second...sorry...don't mean to ignite a huge line of replies against this. I was only thinking about the lower end Novak and LRP escs. Forgot about the Keyence.

The Keyence is awesome, so I guess it's not uniform. My bad.
