Schottky Diode Spec

I just got my VFS2000 and need some Schottky Diode. Can someone tell me Schottky Diode spec like how many amp,etc?

3 amps and 40 V or more should be fine. I use myself 5A / 50V ones, but any over those specs should work.

Just being curious and wanna to learn. I've noticed some guys would put more than one Schottky diode on da motor. Isn't one sufficient. Wots the reason in putting more than one of these diodes.?

It just helps protect the ESC more when hard braking. I'm sure one of the more "hi-tech" guys can come up with a more in-depth explanation though...
