I would think not. If you don't have a reciever, check out the Novak XXL, great price and a very good reviever.

of course u can,...
but u have 2 take note bcos there might b problems...might...

after all, with so many different brands out there, matching is sometimes abt trial n error...

but do take note tat the KO receiver should b a 2 channel receiver, they sell optional add-on unit for the 3rd-channel...

it depends...

if you're on 27MHz or 40MHz, then yes.

If you're on 75MHz, no.

Mine are 75MHz. I doubt it would work reliably but you never know.

well, just don't go buying it, test it first.... tried about all combinations here with my 75MHz M8.... has to be a receiver from Airtronics/sanwa or at least made for it, like the XXL and the Hitec DCX, to name a few....

and the crytsals have to be from airtronics/sanwa too..... jr/ko don't work.... except for the dcx, which uses a different crystal, that one i got with the receiver itself....

I wasn't going to buy one assuming it might work. Buying a new radio isn't so bad, its what they get for the recievers.

well, i don't know how i can be of help here, just some thoughts here...

if you're thinking of changing your m8 to operate at 40mhz, then you would have to buy the m8 40mhz module, the one that plugs at the back of the radio. it's where you plug the tx crystal... after you have done that, you can use any 40mhz FM receiver on the market (just putting the FM qualifier there, though i haven't seen a 40mhz AM receiver yet)

believe me, i'm really tempted to go down that path.... sanwa/airtronics receivers here are rare, and the one that i got were the ones i bought when i went to the US about two years ago... had to resort to using velcro to mount the receivers so i can switch from car to car easily.

JR and Futaba FM 75mhz XXL's (Novak) work just fine with the M-8 as long as you use the Airtronics/Sanwa crystals. I know this for a fact. They're all I own. I had an R-756 before I bought my M-8 and I never had to buy any new recievers, just the crystals.

that is surprising, cause i think futaba is on the other side of the 75mhz shift than sanwa/airtronics.... interesting....

like my hitec dcx says it will work with jr, ko and sanwa. i'm thinking it's because of the shift thing (positive for futaba et al, negative for sanwa et al)

i tried a ko xxl with sanwa crystals, didn't work with my m8.... and also futaba receivers with sanwa crytsals, no dice....

anyway, looks like still no luck for me, as sanwa crystals here are harder to find than receivers.... imagine telling the race directors to reserve the freq for you cause you don't have alternate crystals, beg them at times.... happens to me every race day

Default M-8 -- 40mhz module

I have 2, 40 mhz receivers and about a dozen sets of fm 40 mhz crystals. Just need the 40 mhz transmit module for the M-8, where can I get one??
