As far as I know they have bought TR but they are different people and service is very good. Which is a relief

I was wondering about that. Looks like the same stuff in black!

The RC section of TiR (they make stuff for full sized race cars etc as well) was bought by some other people who will now trade under the name Litmodz.

Provided their quality control has improved their stuff should be fine.

Nice looking CVD...As it happens I am in the market for some new ones for my Phi...hopefully they make some for that car.

Off to a great start I see...link doesn't work :(

I wondered if this would ever come to rc from the real world. If anybody has ever stripped there truck apart they would recognize this CV joint style.

A picture of a full scale one. Looks like a great alternative to double jointed shafts.

Looks like the site is working now...but no mention of these new CVDs...any idea of a release date?

vabroom 07-25-2010 11:08 PM

On Red RC, they were just starting to test them. So it will be a while before we see them for sell if ever.

Hi Guys, I can confirm that TR has been bought out and now operates under the Litemodz banner.
Yep the new CVD is being tested and the results and feedback we've had so far are brillant (I'd have to say that wouldn't I ;)) The "chatter" problem you get from a UJ has gone and in doing so has improved tyre wear, and comments from our test drivers has been that the car runs a lot smoother.
More information will be forthcoming soon, I can't give you a release date or price yet, but they will be available for all current models.

Good to hear someone is picking up from where TR left off. TR's biggest problem was their customer service. It wasn't just bad, it was probably the worst in the industry. I hope new ownership means a clean sheet in that regards.

At last, the CONSTANT VELOCITY has been put in rc CVDs :sneaky:

Rzeppa ball style - yay !

But will they work better than good ol Losi LCD's? They really do stop the chatter. These do look very interesting.

I'm leaving regular updates on how the testing is going on Fans of Litemodz in groups on Facebook.

Any chance the pin for the diff side of the cvd will be held in with a set screw like the aftermarket ones for the Corally? I'm wanting better CVDs for my Corally but want to use the steel caps instead of the plastic ones. My spool keeps eating the plastic caps.
