Default Best servo under $90

What's the best servo for electric touring cars $90.00 or less? Feel free to add reccommendations and/or bad experiences as well.

Also, I've heard that analog servos with metal gears don't hold a true center, that they get off sometimes. Is this true even with higher end analog models?

And what's the real advantage of a digital servo over an analog servo?

Digital servos center much better and don't wander. They also usually are much faster and good torque. Try and see if you can get a new/used KO servo, as they are the best. If not, www.servocity.com has good prices on Futaba and Hitec servos. If you have $90 to spend, I highly recommend getting a digital servo.

Well, I certainly hope the KOs are the best, because their analogs are more expensive than others' digitals. Would the, let's say 2173 be as good as a digital servo/work as well?

Also, what do y'all think of the three new Hitec digital servos coming out?

I use the KO 2123FET servo and I love it. I have not tried their analog servos, but I can imagine that they are of the same quality.

Under $90... Futaba S9550. Small in size and weight. Digital. Plenty of speed and torque for Electric Touring. And only $80 at Tower.

Thumbs up

staying under $90...futaba 9550. no contest. not lightning fast, but it's digital, coreless, metal gears, tiny, and enough torque for all 1/10 onroad applications.

Okay, so far the S9451 is in the lead. But what about the three new Hitec Digital Servos coming out...the 6965 in particular? Tower has it at $85 right now and it has real good specs.

I would go with Futaba S9451 too, I have one in my Xray and it has been perfect so far.

Okay, okay. So the two Futabas are good. They're my first choices. But why isn't anybody giving Hitec a chance? They have three, what look to be awesome, new digital servos coming out and they should be about $90.

Anybody? Or are Hitec products not that good? Also, what servos do the pros use (if you are a pro, that would be cool if you could answer)?

I use the KO 2343 which is the same thing as the 2143, but it is programable. I had a Hitec, and it wandered alot, i would have to re-center it before every race, and it just became a pain in the butt. And the Futaba digitals are also awsome, but the KO is smoooth.

And you can get them for about 95 i think, so a few bucks over the 90, but worth every cent.
