Anyone using HPI Pirelli rally tires?
Has anyone tried using the HPI Pirelli rally tires on their touring car?
I ask because of a low grip track I run on where guys are using mini pin tires with success. Just wondered if this would be a good tire to try. I have already tried some Schumacer tires and the HPI pin style rally tires.
By the way, the track is run on a hardwood gym floor.

Pins will flex, and because they have a smaller profile, they will find their way through a dusty low grip gym floor easier
Block tyres are better suited to off road terrain, loose mud,gravel etc...

I've not used block tyres myself on such flooring, but from local club knowledge on a similar surface, rally or block tyres do not cut it on a gym floor, as the profile of the block does not flex enough.

I did already try the Tamiya rally block tires and they were completely useless.
The gym floor does vary from race to race as the dust and dirt gets cleaned from the racing line.

I thought the same thing about rally block tires but the HPI Pirelli tires have a very thin tread and come in a soft "S" compound. I will probaly get a set just for sh*ts and giggles and see how they work.

Tbh, your options are rather limited on that kind of floor. If you have the skills though, a set of very hard rubber drift tyres might be fun!...

The Pirellis are much more grippier than the rally blocks. They're actually closer to a treaded onroad tire. I have both the rally blocks and Pirellis so I know the difference. The Pirellis are for tarmac rally so they will work fine on tarmac.
