I dont know if this idea would work, but couldnt you tape them in? In my head it seams feasible, but i am not sure if it will work.

1500mah batt, mabuchi motor... The racing in the class is obviously going to be very close so you'd need every little bit to have an advantage. If you make your packs into saddles you will be able to equalize your cells, important for nicd's. If your so set on stick packs just buy a car that will let you run them.

Buy a Used Graphite chassis.... You can get them real cheap.
