Default Silver monster

The green finish started to flake off my monster so I soaked the can in oven cleaner for 1/2 an hour and then scrubbed it with a tooth brush. It looks much nicer then before. If you do it, just make sure you wear gloves or the alkaline will burn off a layer of skin.

Looks good!

Any plans to polish it to chrome?

DOMOisCOOL - That would take way to much effort. Plus chrome can monster's are the spec monster motors. Even after a few hours of polishing I'm sure it wouldn't look as good as a spec can.

We discovered this a while back when cleaning the motor can off in hot water and soft soap. That's all it took to get the green finish off! I don't know what kind of color treatment they did, but it comes off very easily

Just soak it in water. That will take the paint off. (I have seen it happen on accident)

Old news eh... O well.

EddieO - Most club tech guys arn't too tight, but obviously if you went to the nats the last thing you want to do it have your motor stand out.
