spec racing esc
I am looking to do some spec style racing, and I have a bunch of sport ESCs that I got in a trade and I wanted to know if anyone has used the MC230CR esc and there impressions. This will be used with at most a 21 turn motor.
I am leaning towards this ESC as it puts out 6V BEC, my other option is are the novak elektra. I have a pretty powerful ESC in there now ( GM V8 ) but I want to be more in with the spirit of the class.
Also, if I decided to run this ESC with a 19 Turn motor, do you think it would go poof on me? Its rated for 20 turn motors. Just curious.

the mc230cr is pretty good if u use it for spec racing, its rated at 23t and 21 if u use a heatsink if i recall, i wont try to go that down though, as u never know. i have been using it for silver 540(perfect) only and u can disable the reverse if u want. and i think its one of the cheapest regarding its size and from a reliable brand.

Do you feel like you have plenty of power with it?
I have used sport ESCs before, but some of them really felt blah on the power. One of the good ones I was told was the V3R esc, a guy at my track actually won the class with it so I know it does put down the power, I just don't want to feel as if going from my V8 to MC230CR that there is a really big power difference. Minor is ok, just nothing drastic.
