Ok, WARNING- This thread contains noobishness of epic proportions. If you are in a bad mood, you probably shouldn't bother reading this. If you'r in a good mood.... well ok.

Anyway, here goes. I have a HPI E10 and have recently had some hop ups recomended to me. i bought them. however, I a) don't known how to put drift tyres onto the rim (do i just stamp on them??) b) replace springs on the dampers. can someone tell me how? :confused:

Ok to put on the drift tires heat them up with a hair dryer and they slip on a lot easier. to put the springs on detach the spring perch and pull the old spring off and put the new one on.

Cant help you with drift tires if there different than normal racing tires, if not than slip them onto the rims and apply CA glue to the bead of the tire by pealing the rubber back a tad to expose the bead then push it back down into the bead of the rim.

Springs are changed by

Remove the shock body from the car, the bottom of the shock should have a removeable spring cup. Push the spring up off the cup and the cup should slide up the shaft and have a notch in it to push it off of the shock shaft. Pull the spring off the shock, push new spring onto shock then push the spring up with the shock cap and slide it back over the shock shaft :nod:

I'm looking at my HPI E10 right now. If you have the stock HPI E10 plastic "shocks", they aren't really designed to be taken apart (at least easily). Since the 2 pieces of the plastic shock assembly snap together, you probably can use a small flat screw driver to force the "shock piston" piece apart. You can see a picture of a unassembled HPI E10 shock as part of the HPI spare part #85610 and 2 can be purchased on TowerHobbies for about $6 USD (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...FVSEARCH=85610)

There are 2 options for the HPI E10 if you want to upgrade to oil filled shocks. The 1st is HPI E10 threaded shocks (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVUV5&P=7). Another option is to buy an aftermarket shock tower that will allow you to use standard touring car shocks. As far as mounting hard plastic drive tires onto plastic wheels, heating up the tire makes it easier. Be careful if heating the tire to not burn your hands. Some protective gloves would be a good idea. You can also cool off the wheel as this will also help.

This method can also be used when trying to separate 2 glasses that are stuck together. Place some ice water in the inside glass and then place the outside glass into hot water and the 2 should separate.
