See ya'll in Corona!

Clay did you run your Mini class? That long straight should be funny to watch for those.. Punch it, take a coffee break, and by the time your back, you should be entering the sweeper lol

Default Maiden test .........

Got my gtp gas conversion on the ground today, bit of suprise, first this thing is quick, rolling power wheelies, second my tires suck,
So here's the setup
GTP diy conversion to BL,including battery tray , only cost me $2k
4s 5000 genace hardcase
tekin rx8 with tekin 2650kv buggy
17t/ 51t need to go down to a 16t or 15t.
hardened ring gears shimmed
Laydown servo conversion - diy
dm1 front shocks -since mine is an older gtp
lx1 front shocks in the rear
70w shock oil all around
yellow dm1 springs
yellow lx rear springs -way way too soft
pbs rear conversion
cvs all around
torsion swaybars
10k rear fluid
30 front fluid
100k center
Shortened wheelbase to fit under the thunder tiger xsara body
ball bearing steering -thanks SNR
Has anyone tried the rc4less 1/8 revo/ofna springs ? I need some stiff springs to keep the back from squating on accelertation.

Mark, can you share a little more info on your "2wd GT8 lite" idea?

Same as the slash set up 2 cell and just use a SC10, Blitz, Slash 2wd, Kyosho, losi, duratrax Short course truck and set it up with a GT8 body..

We're pretty close to getting something like this setup here in Sunny Florida. What tires and wheels are you using for the 2wd vehicles? And what's a good source for the bodies?

Here's my Slash 4X4 converted to a GT8 Lite with the STRC Conversion Kit. I'm currently running what I had in my Slash 4X4, a Tekin SC4x 4.5T and RX8.

I think Jerry (RC Passion) was taking it a little easy on me but Arron (SanDiegoBrotha) was trying to kill me, unfortunately his initial move failed and he ended up in Jason's lap. LOL!!!!

I'm currently having issues with the steering, tight turns are almost impossible when going fast. It's still work in progress. Aside from that issue, it's a pretty awesome deal to be able to take a Slash 4X4 and turn into this.

I was running here 80wt oil front shocks and 70wt oil rear shocks, Blue (20% stronger than stock) traxxas shock springs front and rear, Black "thick" sway bar front and rear.

I'm now running 45wt oil front shocks and 45wt oil rear shocks, Blue (20% stronger than stock) traxxas shock springs front and Pink (10% stronger than stock) rear, silver "think" sway bar front and black "thick" rear. It has gotten a little better so that's good.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know what is in the diffs? Try some lighter weight fluid in the rear diff.

Good point, but Traxxas diffs aren't sealed diffs so if you go too light it will just leak out eventually. I actually just put a very small amount of 50wt but it was just for lubrication purposes. I didn't acutally fill the diffs like you would in a diff on a SC or GT8. I may just revisit that gain.

I would say use the 17mm hexs and run the regular 1/8 gt tires or run it like a rally class and use the stock tires or the proline street fighters... It is early to say but I would say keep it simple.. Bodies right now the easy one are the protoform other then that for right now maybe the Delta plastic or the Bysm.

Another great option you might want to look into is The Warrior!

Good luck!

Nice body But it will only be able to be used in the open class.. The lights are going to have to have a real gt looking body more of the scale look..
