Hoping I can get some help in this thread from people with converted GT/GT2 cars.

I bought a new IGT2 rolling chassis last spring and installed an LRP Z.28R, Dynamite 086 pipe, Dragon Racing short chassis, Protoform PF8GT, and Dragon racing 3 shoe aluminum clutch. The engine is still tight and not even fully broken in as it only has about 10 runs and now I'm thinking about going brushless due to the area where I run it and the times I have available to run it. I live across the street from the middle school/high school complex where I teach and there is some prime area for running the car at night or the weekends.

However, the reason I haven't run it much is that the noise is a little bit of an issue in the area due to the neighboring houses. For those of you that went from nitro to brushless, I already know what hardware I want to use for the conversion but what would it take with a MMM/2200kv combo to match/out perform the LRP/086 combo? 4s, 5s, 6s? What C rating do I need? Trying to figure out a budget for the conversion.

MMP? do you mean MMM? I know its rather robust, but will an MMP actually run a 1/8 motor w/o smoking in a mater of minutes?

Hi all,

I am a french RC boy, i am planning to get into GT8/rally game racing.

I have some good experience in 1/10 brushless TC racing, now i am running 1/5 gas GT car.

I have spoted two car kit OFNA GTP2 E and DM1 spec E, but i really have no clue wich one ishould buy ... i am really lost between those two cars !

Could someone guide me ? i just want the best car of those two for serious asphalt track racing.

What are the pros and cons of each car ?

Thanks.

Does any one know of a place in Alabama that runs this class? I would love to get into this class, but the closest place I know of that runs on road is 2hrs away & only runs 1/10 scale stuff.

With 2200 KV motor, you should run 4S. Minimum C rating 40C

GTP2E. Its more durable and easier to fine tune.. The DM1 Spec does not have droop settings.

I'm in Birmingham, so 4 hours is a bit to far to drive on a regular basis.

That off road track looks HUGE! I'll have to see if I can get down there one weekend for an off road race.

I Don't think it's that great of a value.. For $580 (ceptor non licensed body) you could pick up an Ofna GTP2E plus Tekin RX8, install your own radio and servos and still have money to spare.

Ok, thanks for your reply.

It's obvious that the GTP2E have a more simple design and so a better durability.

The DM1 chassis plate look sooo good, but yes i really don't like this front suspension layout !

What option or spare should i take with the GTP2E ? i heard the rear pivot ball kit is a really good value !

Thanks again for your help.
