This gets into a funny place. Touring cars, have been, and some still are, FWD. BTCC cars are completely bonkers.
Agreed, this could turn ugly real fast. I hope that bodies classified as touring cars are not allowed in the class. I am part of the board of our local club so I have a pretty good idea which bodies I will vote for and against

My pops has a Dodge Shelby Charger and it's wicked! The old school Dodge / Shelby line up was wild. He's wanting a GLHS next but it seems impossible to find here locally.

I did a lot of art work and design for Shelby back in the day when Shelby was with Chrysler. Product design, Illustrations for ads and even the owner's manuals.

My dad had a 1984 black and gold Dodge Colt turbo.....pocket rocket. Then later bought a red and silver turbo Dodge Shelby Charger. Both were quick off the line, especially considering what was on the streets in the mid-80's.

I was rolling a gold and black Chevy Citation X-11 notchback coupe with the high output V6. Tore up more motor mounts than I care to remember.

Ah the early days of FWD performance lol.

What does it do to grow participation?

Hatchbacks to compete against super car bodies?

'Been running FWD in competition this spring and summer
FF03 and Evo4,
Using mostly an Alfa Romeo 155 - a a square upright box
Totally different than the low sleek bubble cars
And slower
But fun
Even did the local ROAR race with the FWD
Tried the Protoform Europa, it was slick and stable
So I have run against the supercars in a ROAR race
And nobody was complaining
