The car that showed this to me most surely, was my FF03. The back end of that car has ~no weight~ on it at all. Another racer suggested I try putting a wing on it. ... then he put it on... It was a massive change.

When I started running USGT I ran a lot of camber, now I'm running about 3/4 degree up front and about 1/2 degree at the rear.....I still get the ring of death.

According to many youtube users, the 303 protectant gets applied once to the tire+rim and get to sit for at least 12hours before racing. No need for further applications, and it is said to make rubber tires in real cars last twice as long. You will need to sauce with sxt after the initial 303 application. Hopefully I will be able to get similar results with Rc tires...

For what it's worth to those that may try this. I've experimented with lots of real car tire sauces ( I have a dirt track late model and have lots to play with), most RC tires dont respond well to real car additives. They usually dissolve either the tire or (if you get it on the rim ) the rim... but if you want to try it, more power to you.

I was always told by experienced people that the ring of death on touring tires (not specifically the USGT premounts) isn't actually because of too much camber, but that it's because of the way RC tire flex under cornering load. Like, it gets pushed in on the outside from cornering, which makes the inside edge bulge out and wear more. It kinda makes sense in my head.

The original reason for me to change my camber was mostly to reduce inside tire wear, was wearing out tires in about half the time I get from a set today. It greatly increased tire life, it does little to prevent the ring of death.

My camber is set to -2 degree all around. The ring of death is in the front tires, the rear has a very even wear. The RC tire flex under cornering load makes total sense... I though it was due to camber too.

Very interesting Bert, let us know how it works out. I wonder if it makes the rubber harder and take traction away.

Sounds like a good spot for a camera, a light, and some recording of laps from under the body...

So.. I built the MST TCR. It's 337 grams naked. And it's transmission is exceptionally efficient. But has restrictive available ratios.

But it's got no damping.

I should see what the all up weight is, with a USGT body, and a proper mini servo.

Worst case, it'll be hilarious.
