I think you meant to ask that question in the World GT thread:

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...-pan-spec.html

USGT is based on AWD touring car chassis.

Probably should try something new; but, I've been using Kimbrough spurs for more years than I like to admit.

They're the best spurs imo, the kimbrough isn't all that great, runout is bad compared to those other two. On my vta I'm running a rw 82 spur.

I'm just waiting on a new body, decals and Ride carpet tires to try locally. Never really ran with rubber tires before. Is there a must use or must NOT USE 24mm rim for them? ie: are any known for breaking, therefore stay away?

I like the ride rims, but they're only available in the US (yes, I know we're predominantly USA here ) but postage kills me for just the one item. Are the Tamiya's ok?

I like the Tamiya wheels. I have a set with a +2mm offset that I added to wide hexes to push the track out to fill the wheels wells of 200mm bodies.

I have found that the Ride rims are very brittle, and prone to cracking. I am going to give the Tamiya rims and the Exotec rims a try, to see if they will hold up better.

The Exotek wheels are excellent.

I have used the ride and Tamiya wheels and have had no problems with either. Both have taken hits with no bends or cracks.

My re-purposed Solaris wheels have been holding up nicely.

BTW, I did see the Rides mounted on 26 mm wide wheels in my RD's stash... they looked REALLY flat and stretched. At the club level, they'd probably perform OK, but I think I'll stick with 24 mm wheels. I like having that bit of concavity.

The Rides work better (are faster) on 24mm wheels. I use the exotek wheels, but the spokes may hit the A-arm on some TCs.

Thanks for the heads up, on the rims hitting. I had the same problem with some Sweep tires.

Quick follow-up... I've been extremely happy with the performance of these Speed Mind wheels with Sweep Aqua Medium foam inserts for outdoor asphalt racing:
http://www.sweepracingusa.com/110-TC...set_p_210.html

I recently raced indoor carpet with these foams and I didn't run nearly as well as I hoped I would do, I probably would've been better off with these carpet specific foams instead:
http://www.sweepracingusa.com/110-TC...set_p_190.html

I believe that selecting a soft wheel and foam insert that is specific to your racing application will yield the best results.

***Note that the national rules require you to use the stock foams that come with the tires, but many local tracks don't observe 100% of the USGT rules so double check your area on what rules they are following if you want to have the most competitive car on the track

These are the rims I just found on eBay (NIB). I didn't see any at my LHS, so I purchased these. They are the strong mesh type, 24mm and 2mm offset. Should be good to go with a new set this weekend. I do still need to dremel off the mold seam on the tires.
