It looks like it would make a great shell for USGT.

Default ZL1 Fitment

Ok, so here's a few pictures to somewhat give you an idea of what I'm talking about. There are two side skirt cut lines, the lower is highlighted with red sharpie, and the upper is highlighted with black sharpie (hard to see). I know the side skirt cut line will be the black, but that's not my issue. The issue is the front splitter, how low it is. As you can see from the masking tape line, in order to have ground clearance the splitter would have to be cut off, and that defeats the entire purpose of the front end. Bare with me please, I'm just trying to not only figure this out for myself, but for others that may have questions as well.

Why not just get longer body posts for the front? I had to do that for my tc4. I got mine from my LHS but they were HPI

I get what your saying, I do. But raising the body another hole is not only going to affect performance, but it's going to look goofy as well. It'll have the same size fenders and quarters as my short course.

Any chance you'd have a part number? I'd like to put one on my tc3. Thanks

If it was mine I would line up top of fender wells with adequate clearance , cut body along ur black line, then remove wheels and set car on flat surface and draw another line around the body with sharpie on its site to get ur proper ground clearance . If that looses the splitter so be it I agree low profile should over come the missing splitter

I do the same thing. Losing the splitter would be a double whammy, I'd lose a lot of steering, and it's going to weaken up that front end of the body a lot. Its going to be a spray bomb, so I'm thinking about cutting the body before I paint...

The body sits up fairly high. you're going to need longer body posts.

Personally I would cut it on the molded line. If it rubs, I would trim it a little more. It should work. It was designed to work with a chassis of those dimensions and it should work.

Dont cut before paint. Paint it, mount it, then trim as neccessary. It also looks like your ride hight might be a little low? That would have a big difference on mounting. If you get longer front post, you should be able to mount with the wheel wells not being to high. No matter the maker of the car, the shock towers being to high is usually the only thing that gets in the way of mounting bodies. But thats when too low, not too high. And did I see a 17.5 in the pic???

Before painting the body....cut the body on the trim lines, take the wheels off the car, set the chassis on a flat surface, put the body on the car and measure how much longer the body mounts need to be.
If the body is too low, it will drag while cornering.

Just use some longer screws and some spacers under the body posts in the front to jack that sucker up.
