I think they were going for this version- https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...0d128944d2.jpg |

Hadn't heard of this Ares before. Since they’re a small company, seems Bitty can get away with calling it Ares.
initially thought it was the Maserati MC20 but it’s too longer. |
Looks nothing like a Corvette! :p

Has anyone tested the rotor strength in their USGT motor? How much is the spec strength supposed to be?

I think he means the Ares has a vette engine as its power plant.

Hey all,
I'm a new guy doing some club racing in our local novice class. But I've been basically using USGT as a spec to build the car to, for when I'm ready to move up. Currently I'm still bouncing off walls to often, and finding consistency and trying to reduce errors is something I'm working on. But, I'm being hard on bodies in the meantime. So I have two questions. First, is there any body/brand that's particularly tough while I'm still in this learning phase? Second, is there a defacto "best" body for this class? Running indoor black CRC carpet fwiw. |

They are obviously heavier, but take a beating for longer. Check out BittyDesign, Zooracing, and Exotek bodies. Bittydesign ZooRacing Exotek

I'm sure others will speak up about their personal preferences, and recommendations, but there is no such thing as a hero maker when it comes to bodies for this class. Choose the one that you have a good source for and that you like the looks of. |

Nope - no defacto - there's an excellent performing body from almost every manufacturer that offers options for the USGT class. Pick and play!

Choose the one that you have a good source for and that you like the looks of. Body can make a huge difference in ease of driving. Also, if you rake your body forward (front is lower than rear) any body will quickly become more aggressive than it should be. I just recently switched from the venom to the bitty seven20 and while some people say the seven20 lacks steering, I really disagree. It's very smooth and fluid and easy to drive and I got all the steering I wanted out of it and then some. At the omaha hobbyplex, I put the fastest USGT lap down of the night with that body and qualified 2nd overall. Threw the main away in corner 1 and came in 4th in the main, but lemme tell you, that seven20 body was such an about face from the venom that I'm actually energized for the class. Previously with the venom, I was just so frustrated because the car felt "so on the nose." So, let me throw my vote in for the seven20 as it is clearly fast and super easy to drive. That's my style. |
My body of choice has to be the Venturi from protoform. I have my car set up to be aggressive in the corners and extremely agile. And the way it produces downforce, both front and rear, means I can grab it by the scruff of its neck and just hammer it. The back end slips just a hair, and I can use that to rotate quicker through the low speed corners. In high speed sweepers, I have the throttle right on the firewall. I'm about a second off from the fastest guys on the track. So, if you want a car that's snappy and aggressive through the corners, a Venturi may be for you.
