Speaking of Exotek, are some USGT bodies going to become illegal next season/year? I want to do all my bodies up this summer in decent weather for a change so I'm trying to plan ahead with purchases.

ROAR has announced in their updated rules that "prototype" bodies will be illegal in USGT as of 1/1/2024. This is not Rob nor the USVintageTransAm.com rules.

Why is ROAR involved in USGT at all?

Kregger 04-12-2023 07:37 PM

heres a link to the rule book
http://www.roarracing.com/downloads/ROAR_Rule_Book.pdf

I like this rule except for the fact I cant find the approved body list
Any USGT approved body on the ROAR body list

In an attempt to stay relevant they seem to be quickly making themselves irrelevant. Just like thier 12GT rule that only allows for 0.5mm of tire wear.

Yeah. I dont know what they mean by "Any USGT approved body on the ROAR body list" when their approved body list doesn't include any USGT items.
www.roarracing.com/approvals.php

For USGT I've been going by this:
http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rule...es9-7-2022.pdf

Anyways I was more looking for a link to the announcement the other person mentioned. How is ROAR communicating important information like rule changes and/or updates?

Any word on the Belted USGT tires being any different this season? We're running on pavement. Or will they always just be a carpet tire?

Asphalt can run belted or unbelted.

Pretty sure I was vehemently told in NO Uncertain terms a few posts back, Belted flat don’t work on Asphalt, At the very least way slower, That was my take on responses.

But I’m old and stubborn, You know I’ll try them anyway.

And, From my perspective, Belted should work, it will just take a different setup

Sorry, I though you were asking about legality.
