How does the national point series work? For us outsiders. I’ve only raced with a local group. I do see a track I’ve been trying to get chance to try is on the list.

Can you name a recent body, you can buy, not on the list?

the newest Ford GT and Corvette are on there, so it's not 'old'

McAllister Hot Rod body or their Daytona bodies. They were on the list and removed for some reason.

The track that you race at do not have to be on the list. Once you join and receive your membership kit. You or the race director can submit the race main sheet showing your name and member number.

Ok. That’s a start. But I’m trying to understand what joining would do for the average weekend racer. The person that races at local track or group. Maybe they race a a second place. But not interested in running the “big events”.

The above link explains how the points system works.

And how exactly is doing the points series supporting either usvta or usgt?
Where does that money go, that people pay to join?

The millions generated each year by membership dues goes to year end trophies for the national points winners and decals for members with their driver number. And maybe a hamburger for Mr. King if there's any left over.

you don't have to race the big events... it gets you more points, but not needed.... all you have to do is submit your track results for VTA USGT or F1 to the site... that's it... you get points and are added in with other members across the country....

the $15?... really... trophies, the work to do this, the website, shipping for trophies, your own personal decals, ect ect ect….you get a lot for 3 cups of coffee.. $15

DARKSIDE 10-02-2018 06:43 AM

hamburger is mine...oh wait back on the Veggie thing...lol

Like is said trophies. $15 is hardly enough for the amount of whining and crying they have to put up with.

On a side note I pre-ordered my Bittydesign Venom!

well looking at that. About 1/2 of the 20 races days I’ve run wouldn’t count. Only once this summer did we get 5 for USGT. F1, I’d have to check. So no real reason to consider joining at this time.

New abbreviation??

In the tech world, "RYFM" is an abbreviation that has been around for years. Maybe we need "RTFR" for r/c. :-)

Here are the trophies I've won from the national points series over the last couple of years.

I pay out of my pocket for the regular Usvta site. The points money pays for decals for each driver and trophies for the winners. If we happen to have money left over, we buy some prizes and pull random names. That doesn't happen ever year though

Body Rules

As long as this body is legal, it's all good
