Couldn't it be argued that Can Am is the biggest group of whiners out there? Whined so hard about .05 per lap (that was most likely driving not motor) that they went out and created an entirely new set of rules for themselves.

An entire new series of rules and equipment created by a group of people that couldn’t possibly have been beaten by better drivers, it has to be the motor. I mean they all have awesomatix’s. Nothing beats an awesomatix unless they are using cheater motors.

You missed it. Sort by Manufacturer and scroll down - 3 21.5s listed as approved.

ORCA TX Series - OTM215TX
ORCA RT Series 21.5T-OMT215RT-01/30/2017 OEM

Hopefully the almighty USGT rule gods will just add a rule saying that Can-Am races are or aren't eligible for points.

Then we can go back to weighing our bodies 😜

Okay ok guys... chill ....

canam has their reasons and as long as the race promoters and track owners allow it.. it is what it is.

every track and event has to do what's best to keep it going.

now as far as the points go... I agree. That should be a no go. But that falls into the lap of K K...

justin you wrong there... you can't have Canam get points and Spec Gt not... changing 1 thing or 3 is the same boat. Vegas has run Spec Gt for years and no points allowed. So CanAm should not be able to either.

now if Can Am Gt is a 21.5 motor... I'm going to dislike it even more... cause the understanding is a next step up motor like a 17.5 with fixed FDR and timing. So either you guys are pulling our chain or something else is in the works.

Couldn't it be argued that if somebody is using a 3 year old motor with the epa turned down they might not be in the position to judge the performance advantage of illegal spec motors?

USGT is part of the US Vintage Trans Am sanctioning body. It is different than the Can Am rc racing sanctioning body. Can Am shouldn’t even use USGT because it confuses everything. It should be plain and simple if you race under the US Vintage Trans Am rules for USGT it counts toward the national points. If you race under the Can Am rules the points do not count toward the national points. Different rules different sanctioning bodies. Really can’t be any simpler than that. Can Am should never been associated with USGT.

I am in agreement on all points but one. I don't think USGT chose to associate with Can/Am. I believe that Can/Am chose to meddle with USGT because they could.

A number of members here tried to point out some of these unforeseen problems that Can-Am was going to create. Unfortunately they didn’t seem interested in hearing them.

Usgt is a set of rules, can am is making that form of racing fair in regards to motor. If you think it is currently fair with running roar rules for motor you are oblivious and should spend the time working on your car instead of sitting on rc tech all day
