I'm just waiting for someone to show up with an old school original (more realistic) Dodge Stratus body, as I doubt they're still on the ROAR list. Touring cars coming full circle.

We have a guy who runs the protoform Cadillac SVT from the mid 2000's.
I lean more towards this class being a 2 door class as being the most realistic. Yeah I know there are lots of 4 doors out there that aren't touring cars, but... That's my couple pennies worth. |
Bronson,
Don't worry. I think the new Cadillac ATS-Vr is going to be released soon. |

Just got back from the PROTOform Canadian Nationals where I ran this class in its proper format (21.5 w/ Ride USGT tires) for the first time. It was a blast! The race had about 40 entries in USGT (err, "Can-Am GT" at this race) with a good mixture of bodies. The body rules were pretty loose, with any 190 or 200mm non-roar approved allowed, and 10mm rear wing height teched. I really liked the balance of grip vs. wear the spec Ride tires provide. Still tons of life left after 3 days, in fact they're probably still getting better. I wish my local track down here in SoCal would adopt these rules but alas, no one in California likes being told to go slower :p
Alex Fournier from Quebec took the TQ and A-win with his Awesomeatix. He started the weekend off with a PF Camaro, but on practice day bought a PFM-10 from me and was the class of the field all event. Here were the A-Main results and bodies used: 1) Alex Fournier - PF PFM-10 2) Shawn Therrien - PF Lexus LFA 3) Pete Elphinstone Jr - McAllister Mercedes 4) David Lam - McAllister Riley DP 5) Dave Locke - PF PFM-10 6) Steve Laliberte - PF PFM-10 7) John Sceviour - PF Camaro ZL1 8) Tang Qianjun - HPI Mazda RX8 9) Brad Stewart - PF Gianna GT 10) Daniel Therrien - Tamiya Subaru BRZ ---- On a separate note, we have been experiencing some problems with rear body tuck on the PFM-10. What I would recommend is to mount the body 1-2mm rearward (since the nose is quite long anyways) to give a little more room behind the rear wheels before it narrows up. Trim your rear wheel wells a few mm behind the marked lines too, and what I did was servo tape in a couple pieces of .040" super stiff lexan to stiffen up the lower rear 1/4 panel where it meets the rear of the body. This definitely helped as I only experienced 1 tuck the whole event (unfortunately while I was holding down 2nd in the b  ) Another option, if you like the PFM-10 and purchase a 2nd one after you blow up your first, is to cut off the rear "tuck section" of the first one and shoe goo them inside the new one, a form-fitting stiffener that while not exactly ideal, will definitely help the problem. :) --- Last thing, Dale and I absolutely love this class. Expect to see 2, if not 3 more licensed USGT bodies from us later this year. |

Woot! Dodge Stratus is back, baby! :D
I think my favourite part of the body rules for USGT is digging through the old touring car bodies in my local shops and finding the neat old stuff. I found a really nice one, but I'll wait until it's painted to show you guys :p |
Love the class and also using the spec tires. One of the biggest and competitive classes along with F1 at The Gate. Hopefully the ATS-VR will be next!

Oh... I happen to have a fresh, unpainted Stratus body. Maybe I'll get that ready for scale nats.

I found a Parma-made Saturn Ion body recently. It will be interesting to see how it does. Unfortunately, if it DOES do well, I don't know where to get another.
