I just got a package from Mr. Lemieux. That really is a great deal for four tires and some stickers.

Mine are scheduled to be delivered today :tire::nod: I also bought the 24mm wheels that he is stocking. Im gonna order that set of RSD spacers from Reflex, It has 4 different thicknesses in it to choose from. Once I figure out what added offset works for my body I'll get the right hexes then.

From there if I needed even more I would go down in front OIL and lean the shocks in more on the tower. Narrow up the front end of the car or widen out the rear end of the car....at the hex is the fastest way on most cars. I would mainly play with the front end of the car but if I was out of options in the front I would move the rear shock in 1 hole on the lower arm. After that if I still needed more I would raise the rear inner camber link. best of luck....

goood info
i didnt do anything different to run the ride tires..but.. go up on my D.R & BROKE the tires in & they work the same for me...but i may try what you suggest just to see if anything feels different:nod:

Kevin, I have also not been impressed with my 21.5 D3.5 for USGT racing.

So which 21.5 have you seen/used that was the fastest and USGT legal? If you were going buy a new 21.5 today which one would it be (not worrying about cost either)?

With the new Ride tires, it looks to me like there is a small groove in the center of the tire but on one side of it is the mold line. Do I need to attempt to file down the mold line or run them as is? I haven't mounted them yet, so it would be easy to remove the foam and pinch the sides of the tire together to make the mold line stand up, making it easier to remove. Do I need to spend the time it would take tho?

i ran them out the pack...it took about 3-5 runs on them to break them in...so if your not racing just practice i wouldnt worry about the seem...but if you tryna run a fresh set on a race day i would file down the seem & soak them in compound to soften them up alil...i got well over 20+ runs on mines & they still look new:nod:

So we have a local track looking to get a class of these going and I've been wanting to try so a couple questions:

1. What's the "Go To" body or does it really matter?
2. Coming from a 17.5 Buggy, is gearing the same basic theory of smallest spur/largest pinion that I can put on as it is with the buggies?

Thanks!

1. Personally, I don't see a clear body that's a front runner over others. People locally (med-large asphalt) seem to like the Civic and GTR. Personally, I've really liked the BMW GTR.

2. I've run as tall as 3.3 FDR, but beyond that temps and lack of low end grunt became an issue. So I wouldn't say it's just a matter of gearing up as high as you can. My experience was with a Thunder Power 21.5, FWIW.

Good luck!

Chuck, where's your local track? I'll be in Logan during the week of Christmas and am debating whether or not to bring any of my RC gear.

I have a body illness I have tried many bodies but to make a long story short you can't go wrong with a Acura NSX Tamiya are hard to find but the HPI HSX is very good. I've also had good performance from Protoform Camaro. I have run the fastest with Protoform LFA This body is great on our 135/x70 open flowing asphalt track.
Look at my photo album and you can see some of my body addiction.

We've got 3 local Off Road tracks, 2 in Columbus, 1 in Jeffersonville. The Loft and Sparks Park are the Columbus ones, The R/C Factory is the other. Sparks is the one putting in the carpet track but I don't know when it'll be done for sure :(

Oh yeah, I've run the HPI NSX and like it very much, although in our club we've seen quite a variety of bodies be competitive.
