I just got a package from Mr. Lemieux. That really is a great deal for four tires and some stickers.

The changes that I always made when going from X-patterns to the Rides was with the Ride tires I ran my inner camber link longer and lower on the bulk head. I even added more spacing on the top of the castor block...so more angle down towards the center of the car from the outside. From there if I needed even more I would go down in front OIL and lean the shocks in more on the tower. Narrow up the front end of the car or widen out the rear end of the car....at the hex is the fastest way on most cars. I would mainly play with the front end of the car but if I was out of options in the front I would move the rear shock in 1 hole on the lower arm. After that if I still needed more I would raise the rear inner camber link. best of luck....
i didnt do anything different to run the ride tires..but.. go up on my D.R & BROKE the tires in & they work the same for me...but i may try what you suggest just to see if anything feels different:nod: |
The ride tires wouldn't turn for me the rear felt too locked in . And the day I ran them incident have the time to tune on set up ...

Yeah I know Im one of the guys who went out and picked up a D3.5 21.5 when the 17.5 hit the market and punched everything else in the face with its speed. I ASSUMED that the 21.5 would be the same....but nope its not even close.........
So which 21.5 have you seen/used that was the fastest and USGT legal? If you were going buy a new 21.5 today which one would it be (not worrying about cost either)? |
With the new Ride tires, it looks to me like there is a small groove in the center of the tire but on one side of it is the mold line. Do I need to attempt to file down the mold line or run them as is? I haven't mounted them yet, so it would be easy to remove the foam and pinch the sides of the tire together to make the mold line stand up, making it easier to remove. Do I need to spend the time it would take tho?

So we have a local track looking to get a class of these going and I've been wanting to try so a couple questions:
1. What's the "Go To" body or does it really matter? 2. Coming from a 17.5 Buggy, is gearing the same basic theory of smallest spur/largest pinion that I can put on as it is with the buggies? Thanks! |

My experience was with a Thunder Power 21.5, FWIW. Good luck! |

Chuck, where's your local track? I'll be in Logan during the week of Christmas and am debating whether or not to bring any of my RC gear.

Oh yeah, I've run the HPI NSX and like it very much, although in our club we've seen quite a variety of bodies be competitive.

We've got 3 local Off Road tracks, 2 in Columbus, 1 in Jeffersonville. The Loft and Sparks Park are the Columbus ones, The R/C Factory is the other. Sparks is the one putting in the carpet track but I don't know when it'll be done for sure :(
