Default World GT pan car RC10R5 setup issue : Too Slow !

Hi Guys,

I just bought a 1/10 World GT team associated RC10R5
and tryed it at the camarillio track today, It was the slowest car i ever seen !
Runned like my F109 when the lipo is about to die...

Heres the setup :
Db9 parma body
Novak 1S ESC
Novak 13.5T
1S Reedy 4600 lipo
88 spur gear
30 pinion

I tryed 40 and 45 pinion, it bring the car a little faster but still not this...

BTW after 10min, the motor was around 110 degree.

Any suggestion on the gearing or setup ?

also on full throttle, the rear tire doesnt spin as fast as my f109 21T & 2S lipo.

Is the issue the 1s lipo of the world gt ?
should i go for a 8.5T ?

i bought the motor used, might it be the issue ?

i have dsx3 so i an check the RPM, any idea on how fast should a 13.5T run ?

thanks for any help
Yannick

You could try advancing the timing on the motor, it will make a little difference in top speed. The main problem is the speed control it is a non timing advance esc so it wont be that fast anyways. So if you really want some speed you need a different speed control.

Are you running a booster or receiver pack with your 1 cell Lipo?

1S 13.5 without a modern timing advance speedo, in a WGT setup is very slow, 2S silvercan would be much faster by comparison, and that's even kind of a poochy pace.

First, thanks for the answer,

Foxxrocket : No i dont use any smart booster as the new novak havoc 1S have it integrated inside.

RedBullFiXX : Should i change for a 10.5T or 8.5T motor ?

tallyrc : Does the tekin rs accept 1S lipo by default or a smart boost is needed?

thanks

I can tell you about Tallys reply and the smart boost. With the Tekin it will not work unless it has been modified by Novak and a Novak capicator in place of the Tekin one.I know this for a fact as I've got my done by Novak. Otherwsie it will stutter. I can say the one small part that I can see is removed from the smart boost does make the difference.
No I have heard of other booster that have been used but I don't know how to get ahold of them.

Another option is the new

it's as fast as anything currently available, and it does not require any booster or receiver pack for 1S.

A bit spendy, and no software updates, but all the settings are push button, easy.

What do the folks in your area run for speedo and motor in WGT ?, or are you the guinea pig

If you are looking for a good booster for the

checkout the TQ 1s Lipo BOOSTER

I"m going to be setting up an Associated 10R5 car soon-- I will be using the Tekin speed control and yes--you have to set it up with the hotwire to make it work!! The battery option is also the way I"ll go to run the servo and speed control w/ 1s lipo and 13.5 motor. This should make your car ballistic-- I'm hoping we can get interest in World GT cars here in SoCal!!
I think the Tekin and lifo battery is the way to go for now. It gives you a lot of options--plus--you could use it in your 1/12 scale cars too!!
If we can get some guys with cars---I'll come up to Camarillo to race!! TQ Hobbies down here has a great carpet track too you'll need to check out!!
