Default HELP! Dead battery pack

OK I made the mistake of letting a battery pack drain pretty much all the way. It's a 6v nimh pack. Is there any way to save it or is it toast? I'm charging it right now and the voltage is up to 7.1 but it doesn't seem to be going much higher. This pack is 2 days old and I really don't want to toss it out. Any help would be great thanks!

The voltage won't go any higher. You have a 6v pack and getting readings of 7.1v. It will flaten out to 6v omce off the charger and back in the car.
