They're awesome...especially if you're not going to do official "racing" where you have to conform to a rulebook. They last pretty much forever with no maintenance and they have great runtime.

You can get them for 220-240...Speedtech has them for that.

Default Get brushless

Get brushless cos they give you longer runtime and virtually no maintenance. Had mine for almost 6 months now and still as good as new.

The HV-Max is a 14 cell deal for the E-max.

Get the regular SS5800. The other one SS4300 is for stock-class racing (slower, but still cool).

Brushless is excellent for a drift car !!! I just put a SS5800 in one of my cars and it's great for drifting. When our track is untreated, it makes a great drift surface (it's a tennis court). I can use rubber tires with a hard insert and man....the brushless makes it so easy to drift, drift, drift !!!! The extra torque of the system really helps. Also, drifting uses battery power more than regular racing because the tires are spinning all the time. The brushless runtime is better and the power stays consistent for longer.
GET AN SS5800 AND GET SLIDING !

I have the 5800 system and it is awesome. they let me race it in the local club races and it does well against the other 10 and 9 turn motors(I just need to drive better now)

you don't want the 300 dollar one. It is for an e-maxx or other monster trucks and runs on 12-14 cells.

Seems like the deccision has been made but I'll throw in my 2 cents. I have two of the Novak Super Sport systems, one in a XXXT and the other in a Xray T1R and couldn't be happier.
