of course the 'general' public will be able to get tires, I'm sure just as soon as the car is released so will the tires, in the past yomoko has had their own wheels, nothing new and nothing to panic about

Someone from a Yokomo distributor told me the new car will be released with usual hubs. The special hubs and wheels wonīt be released.

Oh so did they ditch the mono shock idea? That is going to have to be a much stiffer spring to run that far in-board...HPI tried an in-board spring on their front end too...it kinda sorta worked.

I have seen a picture somewhere showing 2 very small at the lower A-arms. Maybe was on redrc.net.

No, it still has the shock, just no spring on the shock. And yes, it is a much stiffer spring. Just look at the pic and you can see it's much thicker wire.

hmmmm. that's a pretty disadvantaged position for the spring. previously I had thought that the little button head screw that was visible in previous photos was there to adjust droop. now that I've seen this photo, maybe that little screw's real purpose is to adjust spring tension instead of droop? one this is sure, Yokomo's new front end sure is different that anybody else's.

I think it is a droop screw but it's hard to tell for sure from the pic if it adjusts the spring preload or not. I doubt it but who knows.

Ah...I see...then they are using the shock just for dampening with a spring on each arm which would also make the sway bar unnecessary...the problem with running the spring so far inboard and so stiff is arm flex will factor into the suspension. Too much arm flex will negate the spring all together like it did with the HPI F1 car. Also if they are going to ditch the spring on the shock I'd think they would be better off using a short damper tube instead of a shock to save weight on an already heavy front end.

But with a heavier front end, you could get away with running a harder compound. A harder compound rolls thru corners faster. I'm not saying that to justify the weight up front; but I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing
