Default Problem with Reedy Quasar

i have recently purchased the standard reedy quasar charger and have tried to use it to charge my batteries; however, when i plug in the battery (an epic 3000mah nimh stick with tamiya connector), nothing happens, none of the lights come on and the fan doesn't switch on at all, upon pressing the start button the thing just sits there doing jack ####. does anyone have any idea as to what i'm doing wrong?

(also when i plug in my 1500mah nicd pack the fan seems to switch on but the lights again fail to activate).

thanx in advance

jim

Give Associated a call and see what the issue could be.

Default Problem with Reedy Quasar

sparky123;

Make sure that the alligator clips are making good contact inside the Tamiya Plug.
A bad cell or broken bar in the pack would cause the same problem.
Double check the charger with a known good pack (borrow one if you have too). Otherwise I would say the Charger is defective.

Have you purchased it overseas or in UK? CML distributes them in the UK, so if you got it overseas, it might worth paying for repair via CML to save shipment and especially time. Do some research to find the best/easiest/cheapest solution.

are you so sure about that?
i know that there is a recall on the quasar pro 611, but not the standard one, and i thought that reedy and ae made the quasar not novak.
