Default Motor cooling fan stops at full throttle.

Anybody noticed that the motor cooling fan almost totally stops turning when you apply full throttle? Mine does. This happens even with a freshly charged pack and the fan is connected directly to the battery terminal on the ESC.

I think it got something to do with the much powerfull magnetic field of the motor disrupting the less powerfull magnetic field of the fan.

Anyway to fix this?

how big is the fan?

I know when I used a big fan, it stopped when full throttle.

it slowed down slightly when I used smaller lower output fans.

The fan would stop in any circumstances that I have tried. I believe it the draw from the motor is quite big and the maximum throttle would almost drain all the voltage from the battery and the fan as a smaller draw would loose out to the bigger draw from the motor.

Happy RCing.

p.s. Old man, you can call me directly next time if you have questions like these.

Which size? 25mm or 30mm? We're quite happy with the 30mm... but we are also using the Speedpassion heatsink on the motor.

i use the 25mm which comes with the heatsink.... cooling effect not so good n i lose a motor.

however i change to lrp which is good n i m happy with that n the heatsink is purely solid.
