Rubber tires for dusty asphalt track?
Hi,
My outdoor home track has always al lot of dust on it because next to it there is a ofroad bike track.
It is realy a nice track but because of the dust there is no traction.
I would like to practice on the track with about the same traction i would have from a medium traction asphalt track and sorex 32 tires.
Does anybody know wich tyres give good traction and still has a long life on this kind of track?
I already tryed sorex36, sorex28, sweep32, cs27 , vtecR30, vtecX30 and none of these tyres had good traction.
Next time i will try lrp dunlop rain tyres because i have those already, if those dont work i will have to order something but i dont know what.

Try putting suntan lotion on your tires. That should help keep the dust off them some. But regardless, in a really dusty situation I'm not sure anything will ever work really well.
Our track can get dusty as well. To keep the dust down on race days, we spray it with 2L bottles of soda. Take a reamer, punch a hole, cover the hole with your thumb and shake to get pressure up, and it'll spray out nicely.

There isn't a lot you can do in these situations. We have the same sort of conditions at our track. It's part of REAL racing, not like those carpet munchers (i'm gonna get slammed for that one).
You can change your setup a bit to get more body roll, that will help with traction. You could also go down a grade in tyre, but that will wear faster which is what you are not looking for.
In the end, it will help with throttle control at least
