The track cond will be parking lot asphalt open with some tight turns and med to low traction.
He is going to put a speed passion speedo with a speed passion 17.5 motor
Not sure what pulleys it has in it, as far as I know it will be kit set up. He bought the car 6 years ago, put it together and never ran it. So I talked him in to running it this weekend.

With 17.5 class it is prob good idea too get ya hands on a spur gear adaptor
I think jet hobbies or precission rc make them
this let's you run standard kimbrough spur gears in the car. Makes gearing alot easier. I found 3.5 too 3.7 was a good starting point for final drive on mine then geared by temp etc
also the long belt conversion is another good upgrade if it hadn't been done already
plus turf the kit servo saver an get a kimbrough heavy duty one

good too see some more XXX-S hittin the tracks

I think you can run a Losi spur without a adaptor for 108 spur with as high as 53t pinion = 3.59FDR, just my 0.2

I had to put my XXx-S away cause my local tracks running 1420grams and my xxx-s was 1490 with balanced left / right. also just can't resist type-R for ease of wrenching and of cos the more SPEED~ I sitll Love myXXXs collections.

Yea tru but I just like the idea of having the adaptor cos pretty much everyone at the tracks will hav a kimbrough gear in there kit as do most hobby shops
as for the STD xxxs gear ul prob be the only one with them
jus gives back up and finer gear adjustments avail if ya got both
i run 48p bit more forgiving on gear mesh spec if ya in a hurry lol
using the adaptor if it was ever needed (doubt it tho lol) it's possible too gear as high as 2.6 something so plent of gearing options inbetween

yea crazy stuff never need it but it's achievable lol
I can fit a 60 tooth 48p spur onto my adaptor then using the diff motor mounts avail and Robinson pinions u can get stupid ratios out of it
I got bored lol
god knows where ud ever use it lol
think ud smoke ya motor in no time lol

But the main point is by using the adaptor I can gain access to kimbrough gears etc and make my ratios easier too select etc

Can't believe this thread is still on here!

I had to pull mine out of retirement and square it up.
Now that lipo is out this will make weight easily. And it's easy to drive!
What ever happened to Matt Francis?
